Beacon Communications and Dissemination Meeting Hosted by CCBC

CCBC hosted ONC leadership and 16 Beacon Project Directors and Communication Leads for a Communications and Dissemination Meeting on February 7th. 

Facilitated by Beacon Community Program staff, Beacon Community representatives, as well as information dissemination subject matter experts from Booz Allen Hamilton, GYMR, IHI and Academy Health, the overall objectives of the meeting included:

1)     Committing to a national and local dissemination strategy to support success

2)      Identifying Beacon successes to be communicated to local and national audiences

3)     Learning and developing series of strategies to tell your own Beacon story

4)      Prioritizing opportunities for collaboration and leadership

Facilitators led the group through several sessions designed to encourage information sharing among the communities about successes and challenges surrounding the complex messaging and dissemination of Beacon initiatives.  In addition, time was spent identifying communications goals and objectives as well as tailoring messaging to priority audiences.

Nebeyou Abebe, Project Manager, Consumer Engagement for CCBC, made a presentation on Ally Development with Chris Foster, Principal, from Booz Allen Hamilton.  Proven strategies were shared for engaging partners and maximizing relationships with stakeholders to help support community transformation goals and sustain interventions. Abebe also highlighted partnership activities with txt4health campaign partners, including: Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana, Walmart, Novo Nordisk, 504HealthNet, and several community based organizations that continue to support the diabetes risk awareness initiative in the Greater New Orleans area.
